Gracious and merciful God, thank you for this opportunity to come before You. You taught us how to serve one another as You served, not counting the cost but being available to all. Help us have eyes to see the needs around us and to respond to those needs in joy and hope.
Father, we not only pray that You would send volunteers into places that need help to cope with the effects of this pandemic, but we ask that You would prompt Christians to hear the call and take the gospel with them into these places that have been so devastated. Lead us to hear, feel deeply, and accept this challenge of sacrifice that we step up to meet the needs of people here and abroad.
We pray now for all those who have been volunteering their time, talent, and treasure in support of people in need during this pandemic. We pray for strength and sustainment for all, that with patience and understanding they may love and care for Your people.
We bind fear, anxiety, and dread, in the mighty name of Jesus, and we loose power, love, and a sound mind as we yield to You; trusting in and remembering Jesus’ sacrificial surrender of self on the cross for us all. We thank You that we are not fearful based on what others say, but that we will use wisdom and we continue on mission with You for the sake of the world.
God, we pray now for those in need. We pray for Your abundant provision in their lives; spiritually and naturally. Pour out Your grace on the hungry, show mercy for those who are living without adequate healthcare, open windows and doors of provision for those who are struggling to feed their families and pay their bills. Fill them with hope and encourage their hearts that You are with them in the valley.
Finally, Lord, we pray that You will give people generous hearts and spirits to willingly give of themselves to build up Your Kingdom here on earth. Take our feet where they need to go and give us hands ready to reach out to others. Lead us to "Dare to Love". In Jesus’ name. Amen.
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. -1 John 3:17-18 (NIV)
