Pray for those with depression and anxiety.

Merciful God, we thank you for your promises. Today, we lift up all those suffering with depression and anxiety.  This time of separation and uncertainty are all the more difficult for those who already suffer with this mental health condition and for those experiencing it for the first time now.  Loving God, we thank you that you hear us when we cry out to you and for your promise to be near to the brokenhearted and to those crushed in spirit. We ask that you would replace the darkness of depression with your light. Through your Spirit, Lord, we ask that you replace sadness and anxiety with your joy and peace. Help all those who are weary in spirit and lift them from the pit of despair.  Come quickly, Lord, to save those who are crushed in spirit and experiencing anxiety. We thank you, that you call all of us who are burdened and weary to come to you, and for your promise of rest for our souls. We call upon you now and cling to your promises. Bring healing, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. - Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV)

Pray for people at higher risk of developing the disease.

Dear Lord, we lift to You our concern for people who are more likely than others to become severely ill from COVID-19 — the elderly and people with chronic health conditions. Protect them from harm and be their comfort in this time of uncertainty and, for many, preventive isolation from loved ones.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.—1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Pray with us!

Our world, community and church is in desperate need of prayer in this crisis.

Thank you for praying for the many needs around us at this time. Prayer is important, and you are invited to join us in a live prayer experience on Zoom, weekdays at noon. A link to the live prayer experience will be posted daily on the blog.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Pray for educators and students (including colleges and universities)

God we pray for students during this time who are away from their routines and their lives at school. We pray that they continue to have positive connections with their friends and others from school. We pray for their work at home, that you help them be productive and give them confidence that they can do their work well.

God we also pray for the teachers while they are away from their students. You know how much the teachers care and love for their students and want them to succeed. In this time of online learning, we pray that the time spent with their students online is life-giving and can be a moment where the students see that their teachers are there for them.

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11 (NIV)
