Pray for educators.

Lord, thank you for the women and men that have chosen to teach as their vocation. You have gifted them with qualities of intellect, wisdom, creativity, and compassion. We ask you, Lord to guide these teachers as they discern the best ways to support their students during this new way of distance and online learning. Equip them with new ways of creativity to engage and empower both the students and their parents for successful learning. As so many are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious and uncertain, we ask you to provide teachers with extra patience, peace, grace, and positivity.

We also turn our attention today to the parents who have now had to become academic educators at home, in addition to juggling other important responsibilities. Lord, help them to maintain structure and a sense of peace in their homes. As both parents and students struggle to engage academically, we ask that you provide endurance and flexibility. Lord, provide for the families that do not have the proper tools to excel as others do. We lift our hearts and minds to you today and ask for unity between teachers, parents and students.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. -Romans 15:4-6 (NIV)

Pray for those with depression and anxiety.

Merciful God, we thank you for your promises. Today, we lift up all those suffering with depression and anxiety.  This time of separation and uncertainty are all the more difficult for those who already suffer with this mental health condition and for those experiencing it for the first time now.  Loving God, we thank you that you hear us when we cry out to you and for your promise to be near to the brokenhearted and to those crushed in spirit. We ask that you would replace the darkness of depression with your light. Through your Spirit, Lord, we ask that you replace sadness and anxiety with your joy and peace. Help all those who are weary in spirit and lift them from the pit of despair.  Come quickly, Lord, to save those who are crushed in spirit and experiencing anxiety. We thank you, that you call all of us who are burdened and weary to come to you, and for your promise of rest for our souls. We call upon you now and cling to your promises.
