Pray for all those in Celebration of Recovery and people battling addiction during this time.

Lord, we praise you for the hope of restoration and reconciliation. We pray for your sons and daughters who are in recovery from the chains of addiction. Thank you for each day that they have looked to you and persevered. We also petition on behalf of those who are in the midst of the battle. Stand in the gap Lord, protect our brothers and sisters from the voice of the enemy; let words of truth and victory overcome the lies of the enemy. Pursue your loved ones during this time of exceptional challenges; isolation, joblessness, hopelessness, anxiety and vulnerability. It is our prayer that they will lift their eyes and turn their thoughts to you, for we know that you are El Roi - the God who sees me.

I lift my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth... The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.  -Psalm 121:1-2,7 (ESV)

Pray for people at higher risk of developing the disease.

Dear Lord, we lift to You our concern for people who are more likely than others to become severely ill from COVID-19 — the elderly and people with chronic health conditions. Protect them from harm and be their comfort in this time of uncertainty and, for many, preventive isolation from loved ones.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.—1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Pray with us!

Our world, community and church is in desperate need of prayer in this crisis.

Thank you for praying for the many needs around us at this time. Prayer is important, and you are invited to join us in a live prayer experience on Zoom, weekdays at noon. A link to the live prayer experience will be posted daily on the blog.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Pray for educators and students (including colleges and universities)

God we pray for students during this time who are away from their routines and their lives at school. We pray that they continue to have positive connections with their friends and others from school. We pray for their work at home, that you help them be productive and give them confidence that they can do their work well.

God we also pray for the teachers while they are away from their students. You know how much the teachers care and love for their students and want them to succeed. In this time of online learning, we pray that the time spent with their students online is life-giving and can be a moment where the students see that their teachers are there for them.

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11 (NIV)
