Pray for the organizations and the churches around the world, who are serving their communities.

God, we pray for the organizations and the churches who are serving their communities and people around the world. Like so many others, these people are stepping outside the safety of their own homes and serving the ones who are hurting. We thank you for the Body of Christ stepping up to the plate to show the love of God to their neighbors. As the Coronavirus continues to affect lives around the world, we pray the church can be a light to the broken hearted and the hurt. We pray for wisdom as churches start to make the hard decision about when to open their physical doors again. As the church continues online, we pray that it impacts everyone who watches it. Thank you, Lord for guiding us through this pandemic as the Church.

But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, ‘The one who had mercy on him.’ Jesus told him, ‘Go and do likewise.’ -Luke 10:33-37 (NIV)

God, we ask for more Good Samaritan moments in our communities and throughout the world.

Pray for people at higher risk of developing the disease.

Dear Lord, we lift to You our concern for people who are more likely than others to become severely ill from COVID-19 — the elderly and people with chronic health conditions. Protect them from harm and be their comfort in this time of uncertainty and, for many, preventive isolation from loved ones.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.—1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Pray with us!

Our world, community and church is in desperate need of prayer in this crisis.

Thank you for praying for the many needs around us at this time. Prayer is important, and you are invited to join us in a live prayer experience on Zoom, weekdays at noon. A link to the live prayer experience will be posted daily on the blog.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Pray for educators and students (including colleges and universities)

God we pray for students during this time who are away from their routines and their lives at school. We pray that they continue to have positive connections with their friends and others from school. We pray for their work at home, that you help them be productive and give them confidence that they can do their work well.

God we also pray for the teachers while they are away from their students. You know how much the teachers care and love for their students and want them to succeed. In this time of online learning, we pray that the time spent with their students online is life-giving and can be a moment where the students see that their teachers are there for them.

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11 (NIV)
