Pray for high school and college seniors.

God, we give thanks for those who have run the race and finished the … courses, for those approaching the end of high school or college; apprenticeships or graduate programs. We pray for those who are missing the last year of spring sports or musicals, celebrated acceptances, whispered rejections, senior events, graduation parties, walking the stage, flipping the tassel, and tossing the caps. We pray for all those who will not be able to proudly witness all those achievements in ways they had envisioned. Help them to focus on the giver of every good and perfect gift. Help them to focus on you, our Creator God, who created each of them uniquely with the gifts, abilities, talents and with perseverance to accomplish such incredible goals. May they take all that they have learned and offer it to you as they take their next steps in this world. Help them to bring justice, mercy and to spread love wherever they go. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:12-14

Pray for people at higher risk of developing the disease.

Dear Lord, we lift to You our concern for people who are more likely than others to become severely ill from COVID-19 — the elderly and people with chronic health conditions. Protect them from harm and be their comfort in this time of uncertainty and, for many, preventive isolation from loved ones.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.—1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Pray with us!

Our world, community and church is in desperate need of prayer in this crisis.

Thank you for praying for the many needs around us at this time. Prayer is important, and you are invited to join us in a live prayer experience on Zoom, weekdays at noon. A link to the live prayer experience will be posted daily on the blog.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Pray for educators and students (including colleges and universities)

God we pray for students during this time who are away from their routines and their lives at school. We pray that they continue to have positive connections with their friends and others from school. We pray for their work at home, that you help them be productive and give them confidence that they can do their work well.

God we also pray for the teachers while they are away from their students. You know how much the teachers care and love for their students and want them to succeed. In this time of online learning, we pray that the time spent with their students online is life-giving and can be a moment where the students see that their teachers are there for them.

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11 (NIV)
